Detention
‘Buzz buzz buzz’ the sound of the alarm bell echoed through the bedroom but David kept still. Laying helplessly on his wooden framed bed and rubbing his hands on his silken mattress, he pressed his cheeks on the velvet pillows and sighed.
‘David, wake up you're going to be late for your first day at your new school,’ bellowed his mum. ‘David, David, David, David!! Don’t let me come up there.’ As his mum started to ascend the curved oaken stairs, David jumped of his bed and sprinted to the bathroom ‘David!’ cried his mum.

The car was silent for a long time until his mum said, ‘I don’t want a repeat of what happened last time in your old school. Try to make better friends David.’ The car came to a quick stop as David mum drove into the school car park. David got out the car said bye to his mum but chose to ignore his sister who was waiting patiently for her mum to start the car again. They drove off, the car getting smaller and smaller very quickly until it completely disappeared. By this time David was already in school but there was no one around. David was late. Really late.
David started to walk up towards the school gate and, as he did so, a tall, dark figure approached him. David stopped. He looked up at the figure in shock. He was petrified…
